Meet our Speech Language Pathologists
Sharon Gainforth received her Bachelor of Arts degree (Communication Sciences & Disorders) from Western University and her Masters of Speech Language Pathology from the University of Maine. Sharon is a certified Speech Language Pathologist and is currently working on her dissertation for her Ph.D in Infant & Early Childhood Development. Sharon is also the founder and director of Stepping Stones Centre directing multiple programs for children, youth and teens.
Ali Hume-Paixao received her Bachelor of Arts degree (psychology/linguistics) from the University of New Brunswick in 2001 and her Masters of Speech Language Pathology from Central Michigan University in 2005. She is a registered member of the New Brunswick Association of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (NBASLPA).Following graduation, she immediately joined Sharon Gainforth in private practice as a Speech Language Pathologist at Fundy Speech Pathology Clinic. In 2006 Ali was certified as a Clinical Supervisor through University of New Brunswick immediately following the opening of Stepping Stones Fundy Region Inc.Ali has taught the Clinical Supervisor Course through UNB for multiple years, as well as teaching through Fundy Learning Center.Ali has supervised many SLP students from cooperating graduate programs at multiple universities.
